Management Bios

Debbie King
Chief Executive Officer

Debbie is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of DSK Solutions, Inc. Prior to forming DSK in 2000, she served as Director of Information Technology for the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing for seven years. In that capacity, Debbie was responsible for all of the association's technology initiatives, including the  association management system (AMS), databases, Web properties and technical infrastructure. Her experience as a former association staff member enables her to understand the nuances of the association environment and respond to the needs of her clients with great empathy and accuracy. During the past eight years she has worked with associations to successfully address and benefit from the changing landscape relating to ecommerce and Business Intelligence, with an emphasis on Avectra products. Debbie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Decision Science and Management Information Systems.

Alan Simon
Senior Director, Business Intelligence

Alan is responsible for business intelligence, data warehousing strategy, architecture and roadmaps, as well as program and project management. He is a recognized authority in the business intelligence field and author of 27 books, including Data Warehousing for Dummies, 90 Days to the Data Mart and Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence for E-Commerce. Prior to DSK, Alan held VP-level positions with Business Objects, Alliance Consulting, and Cambridge Technology Partners. Alan is an expert in helping organizations adopt and implement next-generation technologies for business intelligence needs, and emphasizes the use of industry best practices to ensure success. Alan holds degrees in Management Information Systems and Computer Information Systems.

James Michael-Hill
Senior Developer

James has over eight years of experience developing and applying solutions to the opportunities and challenges presented in the modern association, not-for-profit and business environment. With a degree in Computer Science, he has developed applications on a wide variety of platforms, including .NET.  His role at DSK involves oversight of every aspect of the project lifecycle including solution architecture and design, C# development, code review and implementation services. The expertise that James has acquired by using and developing solutions for Avectra's netFORUM Association Management System benefits DSK's clients, as he applies his real world experience with the Utilities Telecom Council to the solutions he develops for other associations. James is an expert at extending netFORUM, performing data conversions and using XML Web services to integrate netFORUM with 3rd party applications.

Ed Joynes
Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Ed’s strength is the ability to understand and identify solutions to the business issues and technical challenges of our clients. With over 11 years of experience as an association executive, including the role of Chief Information Officer for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), Ed is well versed in the nuances, exceptions and business rules that are found in association operations. A results-oriented IT executive with 25 years experience with database systems design and implementation, his prior experience managing the full software development life cycle for large projects ensures that DSK’s clients receive the highest quality solutions. Ed is responsible for complex netFORUM implementations, business intelligence engagements, SQL development, data modeling and reporting, prototyping, requirements analysis, and project management. His extensive database experience, excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability, combined with his netFORUM experience enables DSK to consistently exceed our client's expectations.

Thomas Osterbind
Senior Project Manager

Tom’s background spans more than 15 years within the information technology profession with 10 years spent managing IT projects and personnel for the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA). As Senior Director of System Engineering for AAMVA, Tom was responsible for design, development and implementation of technology solutions including the enterprise system architecture.  In addition to a solid technical background founded upon a degree in BS in Computer Science, he is also a certified project management professional (PMP). Combined, these qualifications ensure smooth communication between our technical developers and our client's internal stakeholders. Managing both large and small scale projects, Tom has refined the art of translating client expectations into clear user requirements. His primary role at DSK is to ensure the clear articulation of user requirements and the corresponding technical options and to ensure the timely delivery of high quality solutions for each of our clients.

Paul McNally
Technical Project Manager

As a Technical Project Manager at DSK, Paul manages the execution of each project from initiation through delivery ensuring successful, high quality implementations that are on-time and within budget. With solid expertise in software development, scope management and release management processes, Paul creates and manages each custom project plan including scope definition, task estimations, development/delivery schedules, resource requirements, and integration efforts. Paul, a dynamic and accomplished software professional, has over eight years of project management experience in the information technology arena and he holds a degree in Computer Technology. Prior to joining the DSK team, Paul was Project Manager at the Airlines Reporting Corporation (formerly a non-profit organization), where he played a pivotal role in maximizing the success of centralized Web portals, integrating multiple .NET applications via single sign-on (SSO).
